Introduction to 「FPS」

  • What is 「FPS」?
FPS, is the Faster Payment System used by banks in Hong Kong. It is a real-time online transfer and payment platform. 

Main advantages:
① Provide 7 X 24-hour real-time, free inter-bank transfers,
365 days a year;
② Online transfers or collections can be made by phone number, email address or FPS identification code, without revealing personal account information;
③ After the 「FPS」transaction, customers will immediately receive SMS or email notification of the transaction.

  • Who can use 「FPS」?
FPS services are very popular in Hong Kong and are offered by most banks.

Holding a Hong Kong dollar account in HSBC/Hang Seng Bank and have opened online banking services, you can use 「FPS」 to transfer money to a third party without registration.
 
If you want to receive from third party (by phone number, email address or FPS ID), you still need to 「register FPS」 first. Some other banks in Hong Kong may need to 「register FPS」before using 「FPS」 to transfer money to a third party. For details, please refer toFPS Registration Guidelines」.

  • When will the 「FPS」 registration take effect at the earliest?
    Under normal circumstances, the 「FPS」 registration will take effect within a few seconds. It is applicable to Hong Kong and overseas phone numbers.

HSBC and Hang Seng Bank support computer online banking and mobile APP to register FPS and initiate FPS ID transfer.


Use FPS to deposit HKD to Sino-Rich  (take Hang Seng Bank mobile version as an example)

A. The first deposit process

1.「PP Payment Platform」> 「Transfer &Payment」> 「Transfer & FPS」> 「New Payee」
     
2. Click 「FPS ID」
   














3. Input:
「Sino-Rich Securities FPS ID」
  FPS ID: 7035918
  Account Name: Sino-Rich Sec and
                         Fut Ltd

(Let it be the default beneficiary bank)

     
4. Enter the amount of today's transfer. The default transfer date is: Immediate

Note: For some clients, the default transfer limit for new payees may be 0, so you need to return to adjust the limit yourself. The adjustment of the new payee's limit can take effect immediately.

     












   
5. Select 「Set up Daily Transfer Limits」

     

6. After changing the limit, and carrying out identity authentication, the modification is successful.

B. The second and subsequent deposit process

  →Find SINO-RICH in 「Registered Payee」, and enter the amount.
  →If you need to increase the transfer limit, please manually modify the daily transfer limit
     「Settings」> 「Transfer & Payment」> 「Manage Payee」> Select「SINO-RICH」

            

Note: The transfer limit of the registered payee will take effect on the next banking day after the modification.
Instructions given before 9:00 pm (Monday to Friday) or 6:00 pm (Saturday) will take effect on the next working day. Instructions given after the above cut-off time or on public holidays will take effect within two working days.

Common Problems
Q1:I use Hang Seng or HSBC to make inter-bank transfers to other banks such as Bank of China, will there be any charges?
All transfers made by HSBC/Hang Seng Bank via FPS are free of charge. Other banks may have different charging arrangements.


Q2:What are the maximum daily transfer limits via Personal e-Banking?

 If you have successfully registered an account at our bank, the maximum daily transfer limit per account is HKD3,000,000. For more information, please go to 「My Settings」 and select 「View and Set Up Registered Transfer Account」.

 For transfers to non-registered accounts, the maximum daily transfer amount is HK$400,000, which is shared with phone banking, Internet banking, local ATMs and overseas ATMs. The maximum limit for phone banking, local ATM and overseas ATM is HK$50,000 respectively; for Internet banking, the maximum limit is HK$400,000.
